Some time to kill...

I'm meeting Lauren for church class in an hour so I have some time to waste right now...what better way to spend time then by updating about my life. haha. anyway...

8 more work days to go until I get to quit! HOORAY! Not that it was a bad job to have for the last 2 years, but my time is way up with that place. Besides, the drama there is out of control. There are a few great people that I work with that will be missed, but for the most part I want to punch the rest in the face. The best thing that came out of working there was a great boyfriend...Andrew :) If I wouldnt have stayed there as long as I did we never would have met, so for that I am grateful.

I'm at my mom's house right now, and it seems like every time I come here I am further rminded of why I hate being here so much. My dad is a complete a$$hole. I hate the way that he talks to me and my brother and my mom. He is just an unhappy old man and I hate being here when he's home. Ugh. Im sure one day someone will read this and think that it's mean that I just wrote that, but hey...you didnt grow up with the guy.

I spent the majority of the day today with LoMo and Cy (Lauren's 3 year old nephew). It was a lot of fun. We had a healthy lunch and Sweet Tomato, and then we went to the mall. Lauren wa helping me find clothes for Africa. So far we got 2 dresses. Cy was wanting to be helpful by carrying my bag for me, but with him being such a little guy I ended up carrying it most of the time. I bought a new ring that says "faith" on the outside and "live by faith, not by sight" on the inside. so that totals out to being 2 new dresses, a sweater type thing (because the dresses are strapless and the Peace Corps would not approve), and a new ring. Cy and I bonded over chocolate milk lol. That kid is the best. The rest of the day has been spent on facebook and surfing the web.

Things at home have been ok for the most part. Yesterday Andrew and I watched outside and Patches was playing with 3 puppies. They had snuck under the fence and came into our yard, 2 little girls and a boy. They were all so cute. I wanted to keep them but Andrew made me put them back. We had dinner and rent a ridiculouse movie lol. It was nice to just be home, we had been bickering a little so it was nice just cuddle and relax.

Blah

I think that I am having bloggers block lol. Everytime I get on my blog I can never think of anything to write, even when I have thought of a million things that I want to write about when I can't. Boo. I just finished reading a really great book. It's called "True Colors" by Kristin Hannah. This book was so amazing. I went out last night with Raullie and Jackie and when I was driving I was thinking about how much I wanted to know how the book ended. Haha, that made me actually laugh out loud right now. I was out on a girls night with 2 really great friends and I was wishing that I knew how a book ended. What a dork.

We went out Papa's on the Lake. It's this cool bar and grill type thing where in the summer you can swim and play volleyball and drink right on Lake Conroe. It was cool, but a little pricey. It started to get kind of cold so we decided to go to Rookies. That's where we totally went loose and had drinks and shots and played bingo. It was great. We had an amazing time. Until that is I went to go pick up Andrew from Justin's house. We got in a fight. We are over it now, but actions still speak louder than words.

Haven't heard anything new from the Peace Corps. Still planning on leaving June 6th! Yay!

I still hate my job. I only have 12 days left. Tomorrow work is throwing me a surprise party, too bad 6 different people told me about it lol. It should hopefully be fun. Hope no one is there that I dont like lol.

Tonight I am supposed to be going to dinner with Lauren and then to church class and to have drinks but she is always late to everything so I'm sure we will skip dinner.

Just a quick update...

There's not really been a whole for me to write about, not trying to bore thhe world with nonsense. Um...lets see.. Andy and I went to Kim's this weekend. It was ok, not as fun as it usually is, but fun still. Lauren asked me to be her sponsor for her baptism. I was really honored. Work sucks, only 4 more cycles to go. They are throwing me a going away party. Other than that there's really nothing else going on.

Ist off day

Sigh...this has been a long week. So glad that it is my first day off. I'm at my mom's house...yay (insert sarcasm here..) to go shopping for Africa stuff. So far that includes eating breakfast and taking a short nap. This also includes spending un-necessary amounts of time on FB and uploading my Mardi Gras pictures. Has any shopping been done? Absolutely not. Joy. I suppose that I could go galavanting around town, but I don't really much feel like it. I need to print out some more pictures and go to Michael's to see if they have any scrapbooking stuff for Mardi Gras to add to Andrew's surprise scrapbook. The thought however, of doing all that after the very little sleep that I got sounds exhausting.

My work weeks are getting harder and harder to get through. Just knowing that there are only 6 more work cycles that I have to go through makes me have to will myself everyday just to go. Don't get me wrong, I am very grateful for the job that I have, but man...it's just not for me. I am so tired all the time. I went on a medical run this week. It was actually the highlight of my work week. The nurses were very nice to us, especially this one named Ericka.

Nothing really to update on the Peace Corps. Sent off my Visa and Passport paperwork, as well as my aspiration statement and resume. So, that's pretty much all there is to say about that. I can't wait to leave!!!!

Mardi Gras Weekend

Well, Mardi Gras weekend is over now. What a great weekend it was.  It all started with Frankie's 21st b-day. I cannot believe that my baby brother is now 21 years old. anyway, we went to my parents house to have dinner with them and Frankie and then we went to college station to have a beer with him. By the time we got home it was after 12 (I know this is not late but Andy and I had to wake up at like 5 the next day). Andrew and I made the trip over to Baton Rouge, LA at about 7 am Friday morning. The trip here wasn't too bad, relatively boring and rainy. We arrived around 12ish but Heather wasn't home yet....go figure. So, we went to find a Starbucks so that I could work on my aspiration statement. We finally made it to Heather's house and then it was party time. By 11pm we were so partied out that we were ready for bed. Heather, Manny, Christine and Vince all went to Splash (a gay club here in BR). Andy and I stayed behind because we were so tired. Saturday we got up really early to head over to Manny's apartment and got o a pink parade. It was raining very much but we didn't let that stop us. We went to the parade and got totally rained on but it was still a lot of fun. Then yesterday was the big day. We headed to New Orleans. We headed down French Corridor and all over Bourbon St. There was so many people and so many parades. We have like a billion beads that we hare going to use to decorate our house. Now it's about time to head home...if I can get Andrew to stop watching Heather's Netflix long enough to get his stuff together :)
